Vent: motherhood = sick

I consider myself very lucky that I was never sick while pg, I felt good just about the whole time and had only one little cold at the end of it. But since Riley arrived I have had one cold after another, including a double ear infection in May, and swine flu over the summer, both of which Riley had too. Now since the first of October I have had two colds and Riley has had three including another ear infection. What gives? He isn't even around that many other children, no day care and I am careful about play dates too. I am just so tired of being sick! I have a raging sinus infection right now and all I want to do is curl up in bed and sleep.

Thanks for letting me vent.

    Yikes, that sucks! Did you get sick much before having Riley? Maybe you need a regiment of vitamins or something?

    No not really. More than DH who never gets sick but no more than my friends, one or two colds a year.

    Are you staying hydrated and washing your hands a lot?  It could be that you and Riley are passing the germs back and forth.
    Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.

    I think a lot of mom's get sick because the lack of sleep is so hard on your body.  I know the little man is sleeping much better but still that was a long time that your body had to function on small chunks of sleep and if he's still waking at 5 for that feeding your body still isn't able to just complete isn't own cycle (not that I'm sure if we ever get that back :) ).

    I hope that big R is able to let you sleep and get yourself better quickly.
