No poop for 5 days now..

Sal last pooped on Sunday.Last weekend we started him on Rice cereal but since he hasn't had a bowel movement I stopped the cereal.

My daughter went 6 days around his age with no bowel movement.

I'll call the Ped tomorrow if he doesn't go but pear juice should help right? I think prune juice might be too much on his tummy.

I called my pedi, DS hadn't gone for 4 days. They said 2 oz of pear juice a day should help. I gave it to him and he pooped later that day.

Have you tried feeding him pureed prunes? (Are you doing solids yet?) When DS was constipated we fed him prunes and he pooped 4 times a day for the next 3 days.

my pedi said 1/2 pear juice 1/2 water when he gets constipated OR mix applesauce with his cereal.

our pedi doesn't blink an eye until after 7 days. DS recently went 11 days and although he was still happy i gave 2oz diluted prune juice per pedi's rec. it worked wonders! i gave it again last night after 5 days w/o poop and he went this am.

pear juice should work but i think your LO should be fine with prunes too (fwiw, we have not done any solids yet).

Thanks for all the advice. We are not doing solids yet. I started them with my daughter at 6 months but Lil Sal is bigger than her so I wanted to start a little earlier. I'll try the pear juice today and see where that leads us.
