I knew this about a week ago, but it's prostate cancer which is usually very treatable so I wasn't too worked up about it. DH just e-mailed me (he said he's been crying to hard to call me) and said that it's worse than they thought and may already have spread...surgery is out as an option. If you have any spare positive thoughts, I would really appreciate them.
I'm also worried for DH since his grandfather, uncle, and now father have now all had prostate cancer...
Re: My FIL has cancer:(
I'm sorry. My FIL had bladder cancer at this time last year. They also had to remove his prostate. But he's completely fine now. It's scary but very treatable.
T&P to you and your family.

I am sorry to hear about your FIL! Don't give up hope! Keep hoping and staying positive, there are so many treatments out there and a lot of times the doctors are wrong they just try to prepare the family for the worst. My grandfather was diagnosed terminally ill with lung cancer and they gave him 4-6 months to live, that was 2 years ago and now he is cancer free for almost a year and on his way to being almost fully recovered. So there is hope!
Also, as far as DH goes there are so many preventative treatment options espeically since he knows it is in his genetics!
Good luck and try to keep your head up and be there for DH... you and your DH and in-laws will be in my T&P

I'm sorry... I hope his doctors are able to control it. Your DH should be checked very frequently from a young age since his odds are crummy.
T&P to your family.
