I have "ovulatory dysfunction" (PCOS ovaries w/o the metabolic issues). Anyway, I don't O on my own and my girls are the result of IVF.
I'm not planning on going on BC and DH and I have the feeling that if I end up getting pregnant again without the help of fertility drugs, we'll welcome that and possibly think about BC after that pregnancy (however, I am extremely doubtful of that happening).
So my question is - to those that don't O and don't use BC, do you test somewhat regularly just in case? (I don't get AF on my own and the OB said to wait a year before calling about PP AF).
Just curious.
I know this seems like a dumb question, but I'm not really sure what else to do about not having a cycle and was wondering if there was anyone else in the same boat.
Re: PCOS girls or don't ovulate - PP question
Well, I only had 1 cycle between kids and then ovulated on my own the next month...hello DS.
But I will say that I *knew* something was up with me when I was pg with DS before the medical study even called to tell me to test. I was either really sick, or pg. So I'd say to test randomly, watch for signs of ovulation, and then just listen to your gut.
FWIW my doc did say that after the first a lot of 'issues' can sometimes resolve themselves. There are quite a few of us on here with 'surprise' 2nd babies, so never say never.
Mine said the same thing and I do know it happens. But we've decided that if it does, we'd welcome it. (then talk about BC later).
I just really don't want to be on anything hormonal (seems like everything makes my migraines worse) - but those are the only things that would regulate a cycle.

I also had "ovulatory dysfunction". I EBF for 3 months then weaned due to DD's suspected milk protein intolerance. I had 2 PP AF's and then BAM! I had a BFP!
I guess my OB was right and that pregnancy "fixed my issues".
