For my first shower I got the hostesses gift certificates to a spa. For the second one I think I am getting those hostesses a bottle of wine and some wine glasses with their last initial on them.
I ordered these beautiful pewter bookmarks... and then, I got a notice that they were discontinued. So I ended up getting candle sets for both hostesses and a grandparents frame + angel figurine for my mom, since it was held at her house.
I bought new makeup travel cases for my SIL and friend who hosted my family shower. I also bought my SIL a Bare Minerals starter kit and my friend the new Jewels Bare Minerals Kit.
For my office shower I bought candles, made homemade pumpkin bread with cranberries, and bought tea sampler sets from www.teaforte.com.
My friend who is throwing the shower is doing it in a blue/chocolate brown theme, with some Tiffany-themed things peppered in. She has one of those Tiffany charm bracelets so I am going to get her the Tiffany blue box charm. It's expensive, but she is doing so much for me and it's the least I can do to thank her!
Other ideas - collection of bath soaps/nice bath things with a note saying something like, "Thank you for my shower - here are some treats for your showers!" or something like that.
I got my 3 hosts Hallmark ornaments and I'm going to bake them some cookies. I'll be giving them out this weekend and the shower was this past Saturday.
Okay, it's over the top, but - from what I hear - my shower theme is going over the top. It's a Dr. Seuss shower, and my invites (the only thing I've seen) are designed from the front cover of One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish.
I have 5 hostesses. Yes, 5. So, I'm taking a different page (each page in that book tells a mini story, if you're not familiar) for each hostess and getting them an item relating to it.
So, there's a character who tries to cook: I'm getting one hostess a cookbook. There's another character who likes to "drink pink ink", I'm getting another hostess Comsopolitan martini mix.
Yes, I know I'm insane, but I am psyched for this shower.

I found monogramed tote bags and just filled them with things I knew they liked. Picture frames, note pads, earrings, etc. One of the hostesses is a big Twilight fan so I got her some Twilight gear too. I just went off their personalities and what I knew they liked.
For one shower i got them all personalized note cards and some Bath & Body Works goodies. For my 2nd shower, i got them Circle E candles (YUMMY!) in their own lunch bag. Since we are all teachers, i wanted to do something that they could use.
I bought clay flower pots and filled them with cute dish towels, cooking utensils and one of those cool rubber-oven mits thingys and then wrapped them up in clear gift basket wrap with a beautiful fall bow. They were a hit....and I got all the stuff to do them at the Dollar Tree!!!! I have had 2 showers so far and have one on Sunday and one at church left. Total I spent about $50 bucks for 9 hostess gifts.

Both went over really well.
