Metformin, how does this relate to TTC ....?

Confused seen someone talking about metformin and ttc i thought this was a deabetic drug?  anyone with any info?  thanks

    My RE put me on metformin.  He explained that it has something to do with your insulin levels impacting ovulation.  Being on met I ovulated earlier in my cycle and more regularly than I did before taking it.  He took me off it when I was 9  weeks pregnant in both of my pregnancies.

    Yep, exactly what pp said. I am on Metformin for PCOS but it also helps with diabetes (I have type II). It helps to regulate your insulin levels, which promotes good ovulation...and then hopefully regulates cycles enough to start TTC without any other drug intervention.
