What is your opinion on the dark nail polish trend?
I am currently wearing almost black nailpolish. I like it. A lot.
I have always been a nail biter, but when I wear polish, I don't bite. I used to always wear a nude shade, but I think I love the really dark polishes. I just bought a few more today.
So, is black-emo (or really dark red, blue, green) polish totally gross? Or awesome x 10?

i have always worn back or dark blue nail polish.
or stark red.
I'm wearing black nail polish with red glitter that is only visible in direct sunlight or strong overhead light. I wasn't sure I'd like it but I do. I normally wear light pink, light brown or nudeish colors but I thought I'd experiment. I'm pleased.
Mind you, this is on my toes. I bite my fingernails so I don't paint them.

I think it looks good on my short-ish nails, but not on say, my co-workers' really long nails.

Yes, and people with long nailbeds. I have short fingers and short nailbeds, so I always feel like I have to grow my nails long for them to look good. And the darker colors are too Elvira on long nails.
Love dark colors!
I was a little disappointed with the holiday OPI line this year...no real deep dark colors, just bright ones.
I just bought the OPI from Sephora brand, and it hardly chips at all. I just use a Sally Hansen base/top coat, and it looks good for a few days.

On young women with short nails? Cute.
On my 47 year old friend? Meh.
I also have short fingers and and very short nail bed with rounded finger tips (thanks to nearly 3 decades of biting my nails).
I am getting acrylics sometime in January. I have to wait until then because I can't have them during my surgery. When I let my own nails grow, they just look weird and ugly so acrylics look much better.

This exactly. I wear BRIGHT RED (short nails only, of course) dark royal blue, black, or a really really dark plum. I think they're great

I'm sure she does. There just was something off with my friend doing something so trendy. Her idea of trendy is getting a new top from Chicos. Black nails didn't mix well with that.

Being that I have super dark blue (almost black) toes right now, I'd have to give it a big thumbs up. I agree about the short nails though, long would look freaky.
When she's feeling like getting a little freaky and needs new chinos, yeah.
I love it. I'm a nail biter too so polish helps. The last time I wore black polish I got crap from people asking me if I was going emo.

My coworker has been rocking one of the suede shades this week. But she has really long, beautiful nails. I think that my color might look weird on her, but the suede shade looked really cool. And she also commented on how fast it dries.
