BRU has this description for the bottles...
The Playtex? Nurser offers the unique benefit of the slide-up burping mechanism - allowing you to easily rid the bottle of excess air before feeding. Its shape and design make it easier to hold, and its NaturaLatch" Slow Flow silicone nipple is designed to support breastfeeding.
Umm, I never "get rid of the excess air". I usually just put the formula in, shake and feed. Do you do this? I don't get how one would even get rid of excess air. What am I missing?

After adding the formula. Just squeeze from the bottom up, holding the bottle upright, until formula reaches the nipple.
With the nipple on or off? While the liner is INSIDE the bottle? Sorry for sounding so stupid.

and FWIW, my pedi told me to always mix formula in another container before putting it in the bottle. Probably so it's fully mixed ...
LOL...it's ok! Nipple on and the bottle completely made (just like you're ready to start feeding DC). Then squeeze from the bottom(holding the bottle upright) pushing up on the drop-in until formula appears in the nipple.
Got it...thank you! I tried it and sure enough, all of the air came out and I was left with an air-less scrunched up bag.
