It's been exactly a week since my m/c, so today hasn't been a remarkably happy day to begin with. A co-worker just came by my desk and said, "I heard you were out last week." I hadn't told anyone at work about the baby, so I took a sick day Friday but didn't expound on it to my supervisor, which was fine. They're my sick days and I don't have to justify using them. So I said to the cw, "yeah, I was out sick on Friday." She keeps going: "But why were you out?" I: "I. Was. Sick." She (snippily): "Well fine then. I bet we had the same thing. I was out on Thursday." Mercifully, my phone rang, so I didn't have to answer that one.
There's not really a point to this story. I knew you girls would understand why this was such a crappy conversation, though. Thanks for letting me vent.

Argh! Yes, I understand! That is so annoying. Co-workers can be super nosy and insensitive sometimes. Before I was pregnant whenever I'd have to leave work early for a doctor's appointment they'd go "Oh, are you pregnant???" I never told anyone that I was pregnant, so now since I've miscarried and have doctors appointments they still ask "Oh, are you pregnant???" I felt like screaming at them to shut up and mind their own business before I lost the baby so now it's even worse. Just yesterday at lunch a co-worker asked me when I was going to be getting pregnant. I said to her, "I have no idea. Whatever is written in the stars". She had no idea that her asking that had me on the verge of tears. I really wish people had more tact!
