In my section of the office, there are 3 of us. At least one of us must be at our desk at all times to answer any of the 3 phones that ring, and greet people as they come in.
So one of my co-workers is on vacation, which just leaves the two of us. My other co-worker spents most of her days in her boss's office down the hall. This annoys me and my other co-worker normally, but I'm especially flipping out today. She was gone out of the office (with the boss) most of the day yesterday, and has pretty much spent all of today in his office (and no, I don't think they are talking about work stuff)! So I'm the only one out here to greet people when they come in and answer HER phone!
I've been stuck at my desk all day and I am spazzing out! I need a break! Does she not realize that I can't go the whole day without peeing? (she does know I'm pregnant) Or using the photocopier? Or going to the fridge to get a snack? Maybe I'd like to stretch my legs and go someone's office and chat all damn day!
Sorry for the vent. I normally vent to my other co-worker about it - but she's on vacation for a whole week. And it's only day 2! Ugh!
Re: Co-worker vent
In all of my passive-aggressive glory I would call the boss' office who coworker is in and say:
"I am sooo sorry to bother you but I haven't been able to get up from my desk all day long since _____ has been back working with you. Is there any way you can send her back up here long enough for me to use the laides room at least? I would reallllly appreciate it. So sorry for bothering, you. With all this working today you guys must have something super important going on!"
Thanks for all the advice! Luckily she came back (shortly before the end of the workday of course) and as soon as she sat down, I took off for a good 20 minutes lol
If she does that again, you need to put your foot down. Whenever you need a break, call the office and ask your boss to send her back. It's not fair that you're confined to your desk while she chit chats.

Do we work at the same place?! I feel your pain, I work with people just like that, totally unaware and self-centered. I know how frustrating it can be. I'm sorry that you have to deal with that, too.
I haven't told anyone at work I'm pregnant, but they all seem to disappear when I need some help. And I don't think it'll change much when they do find out. But I'm known for being the office ***, so I don't have a problem tracking them down when I need a break. It is part of their job, too.
