Arms falling asleep at night?

I have been trying to start sleeping on my left side but the past few nights I have woken up on my right side with my right arm and hand completely numb.  Anyone else experiencing something like this?  I'm also having some night sweats.  Unfortunately I've very stressed with work in addition to the pregnancy, so I'm not sure what is stress vs. preg related.

Re: Arms falling asleep at night?

  • Yes, I slept on my sides and my back before getting pregnant and my arm would fall asleep but not very often.  Now every time I fall asleep on my side I wake up a couple of hours later with my arm completely numb.  I flip to the other side and then it goes numb.  I can only sleep on my back to avoid this.  I'm in trouble.

  • Yes, this happens to me all the time too.  Really adds to the night waking.
  • Yup, It's happening to me also. Haven't been getting a good nights sleep because of it.
  • This has been happening to me tha past couple of nights.  I thought it was really strange because it never happened before and I have always slept on my sides.

I know, I never had a problem..I guess the LO is telling us they need more blood or something.

  • yep this happens to me too!  when on your side try putting your top arm on  your side resting on your hip or hug a pillow and keep your arm shoulder level.
