hot dogs?

I have this ridiculous craving for chili dogs and I remember once reading not to eat hot dogs while pregnant.  But if you heat them past steaming shouldn't that be okay??  We usually get the nathans hot dogs or turkey dogs from Woodmans.  Please let me know what you've heard, I need to go to the store and get some!

    They're safe, just make sure they're cooked. All beef are best, or turkey like you said.

    I think you can google and find a risk for a lot of things during pregnancy - but I personally won't worry about it.  I think the risk is listeria, so as long as you heat it, it should be OK.

    I asked my Dr. yesterday about them. She said that the thing she most worries about is the salt content in them and not the lysteria. She told me the same thing about lunch meat. If your really craving a hot dog or a sandwich, so for it, but eat it in moderation.

    I practically live off of hot dogs with mac and cheese so I can't wait to see how many arms my child will have! For the record, I cook them in the same boiling water as the noodles so they are nice and cooked through.  :)

    Barging in from 2nd tri-, I cant tell you how many hotdogs ive had... and my baby is fine..Quit listening to all these ridiculous posts that tell you other wise... ENJOY!!!!!!
