Success after IF

Did you get your convertible carseat checked when installed?

I am a PW today and have lots of questions. We are getting ready to put Hayden into his convertible carseat and plan on installing it this weekend. Now did you go and get the installation checked out like you did with the infant seat? Is it necessary to have it checked out or do you trust that you installed it correctly?

  • I had ours installed by the fire department in our county.  I didn't really want to chance it.  That being said...my brother installs all his own carseats and they look secure to me.

  • I also had DD's installed at our local fire department. You have to make a appt in my city, so I would call as soon as you can because they seem to book up around here.

  • Studies have shown that 85-90% of child safety seats are installed incorrectly, so I would definitely have it inspected by a certified technician.  Make sure that you are the one installing it, not the tech, and that they are able to answer all of your questions.

  • I did - felt better about it and you really can then learn how to properly install it yourself.

  • We didn't have ours checked after installing it, but we also didn't have his infant carseat checked after installing it either.
