About the whole eyes conversation, you explained the whole blue/brown thing so well, what about green? Every person on BOTH sides of my family has really light sky blue eyes. Mine are a dark blue/green. How did that happen? I'm confused now.
I didn't read the post below, but I'll throw out (if I remember correctly from my bio days in college) that there are a few genes that effect eye color. So you have the recessive genes to give you the blue but then other genes determine the shading, etc. I could be way off though, college was a while ago...and I did change my major half way through bio ;-)
Honestly, anything can happen w/eye color. It's hard to know what passive genes ppl carry. My parents, siblings and I all have brown eyes and DH, his parents & siblings all have blue eyes. Our daughter has hazel eyes.
