Name for our baby girl...

So after the U/S DH said I know we're so set on Dallas for boy or girl (given who wer were naming the baby after) but he said, once he saw her in the U/S...the name Brylee was on his mind the whole time for some reason.

So, Brylee...what do you all think?

Re: Name for our baby girl...

  • I like it. It's not a name you hear a lot. Not to mention, it's really cute! At least, I think so!

  • I like the name Brylee for a girl better than Dallas, but both are cute!

  • How would you pronounce it?  Like "Riley"?

That's what I was wondering. It's unique and I love unique names!

  • It's cute. NMS, but definitely superior to Dallas. Maybe you could name her Brylee Dallas, to still incorporate the name? It was his friend that passed away, right? I think those two names sound pretty cute together.

You know I'm not sure where he got the name from.

But when he said it's promounced like "Riley" but beginning with "B"

  • I love the name Brylee!  I went to school with a Dallas, so I just associate it with him.

Yes, Dallas was for the friend who passed away. I'm taking more consideration into Brylee since it was so out of the blue for DH to come up with a name within a few moments of learning she's a girl.

  • I like it and think it's cute that your H just came up with it on his own.  It's far better then anything mine has come up with!

Thank you. This is why I'm really taking thsi to heart. I thought nothing ould sway us from the name Dallas just for where it was coming from. But, when he's pulling that name while looking at her during the U/S, there's got to be some little sign.

I agree. I think Brylee is unique enough that she can go by it and not get weird looks and Dallas is traditional enough that if she thinks Brylee is too unique she can go by that. That's the way DH and I set up our girl name.

  • I do like how different it is. And, with DH coming up with the name kind of spur of the moment...I'm definitely liking it a little more for that reason.
