? for Ladies Pg with #2

If you are sending out holiday cards will you include the name of your baby if you have one picked out?

Re: ? for Ladies Pg with #2

  • Umm...no. That seems really weird to me. First, an ultrasound isn't 100% accurate. Second, you might see the baby when they are born and decide the name you picked out in advance just isn't the right one. Third, even if my first and second point don't apply...the baby isn't born yet.

  • No. That is a little weird.
  • Well I am 31 weeks and pretty sure the baby is in there because he doesn't stop moving and the name is set. LOL.
  • no. bc i think its creepy to talk "from the womb"

  • Yes, but ours will be here by then ;)

If I was pregnant I might put something like "and baby!"

Obviously I know the baby is in there! What I mean is that there are no guarantees. I know quite a few people that swore they had the name picked out, and when baby was born they changed their minds. Also, it probably won't be the issue since you are having a boy...but my cousin had three u/s tell her she was having a girl, and when she delivered, they said, "It's a boy!". You just never know.

I'm not so weirded out by pp suggestion to just say "baby-to-be".

  • Nah. But then again, we don't have the name picked out yet.
  • We won't know the gender by Christmas, and I prefer to keep the name a secret till delivery.

  • no. We may say "love us & baby." But probably not.
  • I hadn't thought about it but it feels weird leaving him out considering EVERYONE refers to him by his name already. Right now it just is "Bryan, Jen and Em".
  • We wouldn't, but then we don't tell anyone the name until the birth, period.

As it is, DS2 will likely have an 11/24 birthday, so I am planning to have the holiday cards all ready to order and just upload a picture really quickly and get them out asap.  I try to have them mailed by 12/1, but that is just not going to happen this year.

With things being so close, though, I couldn't imagine sending out cards from just the 3 of us right around the time DS2 was born. I'm glad we're not having a 12/20 baby or anything. I guess if we were I'd send New Years cards instead. :)

  • can't you just switch it to the ____ family? then its all inclusive?

    Confused

I would probably just say, 'Love from The x Family' or 'Love from DH, you, DC and Baby-to-be!'

  • No. For several reasons, but mainly, he or she isn't born yet.
  • would LOVE to...but that would neccessitate us actually deciding on Miss Maggie's middle name.

    AUGH!! SO hard this time!

  • No, but I'm contemplating including a picture of the 1st u/s since most people don't know yet and in a few weeks is when we'll start telling everyone given the 1st u/s is fine.
  • No way. ?Her name will be on the card once she's actually here, so, next year. ?I'm not a fan of using baby names before they're here and don't really like the "& baby!" signatures either. ?Just bugs me for some reason.?

  • Nope. We're not telling our names to anyone IRL and I'm pretty much set on using The ___ family now that we have kids.
  • No.

  • I had a friend that knew what her second baby's name would be before she even got pregnant. They found out the sex earlier than usual. From then on she signed everything with the baby's name too. I mean, emails, thank-yous, EVERYTHING. It always got a big eye roll from me. She even addressed the shower invites as "Timmy's Shower". Um, what?????
