2nd Trimester

2nd baby...19+weeks...where are the kicks?

I just assumed I would start feeling LO move earlier than with the first pregnancy.  I recall feeling DS move around 19 weeks and hubby feeling him around 20-21 weeks.  I am hardly feeling anything at all!  I know each baby is different, but I'm a little sad bc I am ready to feel this baby.  We go for our big u/s on Monday, cannot wait to see baby again.  This happen to anybody else?

  • I am due the same day as you and I JUST started feeling my little one a couple days ago and I still have to be still and quiet and paying attention to notice it. I go Tues for my 20 wk u/s!!!

  • I was the exact same way. I expected to feel this one really early, but didn't start feeling them until around 18 or 19 weeks...I didn't even feel slight movement before then.  I do have an anterior placenta this time though.
  • I just had my big US on Monday and found out I have an anterior placenta.  The DR explained that is why I haven't felt as much movement this time.
  • I am exactly the same. I go for my 20 weeks u/s next Weds. I also look back at pics from my 1st, and my belly is not as big this time. I've freaked out once and made the doc do heart tones, but everything is ok, but its hard, especially after having the first baby be so active!
  • I bet they tell you at your u/s that you have an anterior placenta as the previous replies said.
  • I didn't feel anything until about 20 weeks this time around. And no one has mentioned whether my placenta is anterior, but I suppose they would have said something if it were. I pretty much went from no feeling at all straight to kicking. Now I can really feel her wiggling and moving around.

  • Me too, I think I may have felt a flutter here and there but nothing for sure.  I go on Monday for my big u/s too!
