Zofran?

Anyone taking zofran?? For the past two days, I barely can get myself from my bed to sofa, barely eating, horrific headahces, throwing up and dry heaving, and feel like I'm hungover or have the flu :(( I had m/s REALLY bad with my DD for 24 weeks, but this is wayyyy worse, and this time I have my 16 month old to take care of. Luckily my mom has been over the past two days to help with the baby, and I have been sleeping but on the same hand I feel like such a horrible mother :(( I can't even do anything with daugher, the weather has been beautiful and I can't even get her out of the house to get fresh air :((

If your on Zofran, does it help? Any side effects? I'm getting desperate here, I need SOMETHING to help me :(

Re: Zofran?

  • I tried taking it, but it didn't do much for me.  Reglan has helped me a lot more.  Zofran gave me HORRIBLE stomach pains that kept me up all night.  I hear it is a miracle drug for some people though.

  • I called my dr and got an RX today. He called in an rx for the solutabs that just dissolve. I instantly felt better. Like within minutes. I still felt a little queasy but it's totally managable. Like you, I haven't gotten out of bed for a few days. It's my new best friend

Isn't it a horrible feeling when you already have one to take care of? I am dying :( All I am doing is crying the past two days. I haven't cooked or cleaned, and usually I am on my A Game all the time!

  • Zofran helped me a ton! Before I had it, I was throwing up water (I was that sick).
  • Zofran was a Godsend for me.  I had terrible m/s where I was vomitting up to 10 times a day, lost about 12 lbs and had to take a couple of trips to the ER for IV fluids.  I tried Reglan first but it gave me a bad headache.  As soon as I started the Zofran I was able to eat again!  I still feel nausea but it's not anywhere near where it was.  If you are sick, try it!!!!  Feel better!

Yeah, I certainly have not felt like a good mommy this week but last night as I layed in bed sick and crying I decided that I had to do something so I called for a RX first thing this morning.
  • Zofran has been my lifesaver! I felt better within 20 minutes of taking my first pill (they are dissolvable). I was throwing up and/or dry heaving a couple times an hour and I still gag sometimes but I've thrown up probably 5 times in 5 weeks since starting it. I suggest it highly!
  • I stared it yesterday, I have all day sickness--I have only t/u a few times, but I gag constantly and like you have a LO to take care of. I only take it during thge mid of my day when its worst (bc IM still nursing and am nervous about taking too much) it has cut my nausea in half, still there but I can eat more and go out without feeling like I cant go bc I may t/u--I would call and try it. theres no harm in doing so. Get the generic kind, its way cheaper.

  • You poor thing! m/s is bad enough but you have a little one to take care of too! I'm sorry you feel so awful. :(

I highly recommend Zofran. It has worked really well for me. I hadn't been throwing up but I had the worst nausea, gagging and dry heaving. I constantly felt that awful feeling you experience the moment before you throw up, but without actually throwing up. I talked to my doc and she wrote me for Zofran. It has made a world of difference! ?Call your doctor and ask if they can write you for some. You shouldn't have to feel like you do!?

Good luck! Hope you feel better soon.?
