2nd Trimester

Weight loss? Slow weight gain?

I am not worried, this just seems odd.  I have weighed myself the last few days and it is less than it has been.  I have not done anything different.  Now that my m/s has subsided, I probably eat less and *try* to eat better foods.....

Anyone else?

Like I said, I am not worried, I gained 48 w/ DD1 and 38 w/ DD2 so 28 would be great this time!  Stick out tongue

Re: Weight loss? Slow weight gain?

  • Do you know what the normal weight gain is up to this point? I have no idea and keep forgetting ask. So far I have gained a total of 7 pounds, but I have no idea if that is good or bad.

I gained a total of 60 pounds by the end of my pregnancy with P. I AM NOT DOING THAT AGAIN! lol.

  • I have lost 12lbs so far but have finally leveled off and been the same weight for a little while now. I am hoping for slow weight gain and crossing my fingers that I will only gain back 12 and be at my original weight. Big Smile The senile side of me thinks this is what will happen.

I think it is supposed to be minimal at this point (early 2nd tri).  I gained 2 lbs last month, but if I look at the scale, that is gone... so I am not sure what to think!

  • With DD I lost 8 lbs before I started gaining. With this pregnancy I've lost 5lbs so far and I'm hoping to start gaining, or at least stop losing, soon.

  • My Dr. told me that its perfectly normal for women to loose weight at first, but then you should start gaining weight as you get further along... Im 16 weeks and have already gained 12 pounds.... :) Everyone is different of course but thought I would pass that along!
  • Oh my goodness - your girls are ADORABLE!

Thanks, I bookmarked it.  I am definitely below what it says I should be.  It calls for a 33 lb weight gain for me.  We shall see!

Thank you!!!  I think so, but I am partial!

  • I still have not gained any weight.  But I had not with my other two pregnancies at this point yet either.

Im not sure what to think about it yet... lol, I guess its good?

  • I lost weight (10 lbs) the first trimester and beginning of 2nd.  I am up 6 from that so still down 4.  But that will start changing now that I am feeling better and eating more often with m/s disppearing.  My doctor is very happy with my weight and the baby is right on target for his weight and size.
  • I was just weighed yesterday, and I have lost 11 since my BFP.  Dr wants me to eat more, but I just don't feel like it.  I think most of it is depression, b/c I really don't feel sick at all.  But, I had extra weight to begin with, so no worries, baby is great and on target
  • As of my 12 wk appt, I was down 15 lbs from my pre-preg weight.  Even though my nausea isn't going away, I haven't vomited in over a week!  I'm sure I'll start gaining soon.

  • I've gained 4 pounds on a high day--- it fluctuates from day to day. That website says I should have gained at least 7. The way I figure, my baby is still growing, my body will respond accordingly, I'm not gonna stress about it anymore! (Also, I had no m/s.)
