Still spotting...

I've had very light brown spotting since Thursday evening and its driving me crazy! My doctor said on Monday that they didn't want to see me unless it turned into a flow or bright red. I just feel like since I had one m/c, they would want to take a look. I wish u/s weren't such a big deal and they would do them at the drop of a hat. Ugh.

Re: Still spotting...

  • I'm sorry hon. It is frustrating that doctors aren't that sympathetic. I had actual bleeding and cramping at 7 weeks w/ DD, they gave her a 50/50 chance of surviving and she's here and will be 2 y/o next month. GL to you and stay positive!

  • I was spotting yesterday too, and just a tiny bit today.

A girl friend of mine who jsut delivered a healthy baby girl said she had spotting the ENTIRE PREGNANCY off and on.

Also, I read in my What To Expect book that 1 in 5 women have spotting during pregnancy, so pretty much it's normal. ( As long as it's not heavy and red and accompanied by severe cramps)

    So, stop worrying.

  • If it continues, call again and see if they change their minds.  I have known women to have spotting all the way through and be fine.  I knew one woman who was bleeding all the way through and was on strict bedrest, but she made it to term.  GL.
  • I guess I wasn't the norm.. last time I had spotting most of the first 12 weeks, and when I went in for my 12 week U/S I had lost bb.

I'm not saying either way, because I knew how devastated I was when i thought "OK, this is normal this is normal" then everything changed.

    Good luck either way.

  • Hang in there...and if it continues then I would def call the Dr. again too. Good Luck!!

  • Hi, just sympathizing really, I've been spotting for about 10 days now (started in wk 10) and I hate it. ?I just want it to stop. ?It's been really really minimal for several of those days, yesterday I thought it was over but then last night there was a little bit again. ?I'm so tired of being scared!?

I had an appt. w/OB and heard the HB yesterday, he says things look good, that I shouldn't worry really. ?Easier said than done...

    ?

  • It is hard to tell you otherwise, but try to stay positive.  I can only imagine how frustrating it is not to have your OB come in right away!!! My OB has been great this time around after my m/c last year, and I have already had 2 u/s without any spotting it was just to make sure we had a hb and not an ectopic pregnancy.  Best of luck, and I would really call back.
  • I completely agree with you.  I've had spotting almost daily since before my bfp and had an ultrasound at 7 weeks and everything looked great.  I'm still spotting now, and some days I don't let it bother me, but then days like today I get a little freaked out about it.  I too wish we could have ultrasounds just to make sure everything is ok.  My doctor also didn't seem very worried and said it could be "normal" for me.  Ugh!!!
