  i'm sorry about your accident. is everyone ok?  how scary...

  we also LOVE our subaru forester.  easy to handle, excellent safety rating and very low emissions.  plenty of room in back for dd's gear.

  I have a Ford Escape but I really wanted a Honda Pilot. I tookl got my car totaled by some jerk and had to get a car sooner then I planned. Another small SUV that I want is either the Ford Edge or the Mazda CX9

  Foresters and Camrys seem to be the only cars purchased in my neck of the woods. Really. My mom has a Forester, I have a Camry, and the parking lot at Wegman's looks like a Subaru/Toyota lot.

  DH says no to a Forester for my next car...but I beg to differ...I really like them!

  Thanks for the recommendations and well wishes. It was a very scary day yesterday but we are doing ok. DD is acting completely normal and I'm feeling VERY sore but doing ok. We did have to spend 3 hours in L&D yesterday to make sure the new baby is ok, but she looks great. All in all it could have been much worse. We are very blessed!

  I am glad you guys are ok.

  I have a Chevy Equinox and I love it.  I have actually had two different ones, because my first was totaled in an accident a few months ago.  I look at tons of cars and SUVs and I couldn't find something that I like at a comparable price.

  Edit- We also have an Escape and I hate that car. It is hard to fit a RF carseat behind the drivers seat, it fits no problem in the Equinox.  I also always feel like that car is going to tip over.  I always make DH drive it because it feels so tipping.  We are planning on replacing it with a GMC Terrain this spring.
