RP 2nd tri- H1N1 Shot today - but woke up w soar throat

I woke up this morning with a soar throat and some congestion that I'm sure has to do with the fact that I've been on 10 planes in the past 2 weeks. I think if you have flu- like symptoms you are not suposed to get the vaccine but I'm worried if I tell the Dr, office they won't give it to me and then they will run out of shots by the time I feel better.  It was torture trying to find a shot in the first place.  but overall I don't want to put the baby or me at risk by not telling them about the sore throat.

What do you think?

  • Tell them about the sore throat. They will probably still give it to you as long as you are not running a fever. NEVER lie to the doctor about your health. You could do more harm than good this way.

  • You are only not supposed to get it if you are really sick...like stay home from work sick.  Just a cold is fine.  I had one when I got my shot.  You may want to call just in case though.

I totally agree. I hope you feel better!!

  • If you have a fever you shouldn't get it, if you don't - then they will still give it to you.

  • tell them for sure.

DD had a cold when she got hers - pedi said it was fine as long as she wasn't running a high fever.
