Long story ...ectopic with tube removed in June.. IVF cycle one worked...betas 200-365-650 and they stopped taking them and said not too good that they arent doubling..those #'s were taken 72 hrs apart...had me go in for u/s yesterday..5.5 weeks...saw a black spot that "might" be sack but nothing in it... Dr tells us 1% chance it turns out viable..goes over possible D&C or meth for ectopic if that wasnt the sack we saw...we left and were so sad and cried...Dr says on our way out..since we are here..lets get you to do bloodwork... ok so get this..he calls yesterday afternoon and says your # jumped substancially to 4000! which in my calculation is doubling every 56 hours since draw last week...then says I am now thinking that was the sack we saw but that it can still be ectopic beaciuse he's not 100% that was sack..if I have pain to call..what the ---! So now he wants me to go back in tomorrow for u/s to see if there is more to see... although it was IVF and they are calculating me at 5.5 weeks...could implantation have taken longer and that is why not more is showing??? How long could embryo take to implant?

    We got PG on our own one month after IVF, so I can't answer that portion...but....My numbers weren't going up in a way the dr wanted, either. Then, at the u/s she saw an empty sac. Told us to come back a week later...we were just devastated....then the next week she saw the heartbeat.
    Hang onto hope! It's VERY possible that you're not as far along as they originall said. I don't know exactly how long it can take for the embryo to implant...but.....good luck.
