What made you do the switch? My baby boy seems to be extremely fussy (especially in the evening) and seems to spit up ALOT. Actually, he either spits up alot or vomits a little. I'm thinking about switching to either Similac Sensitive or Similac Isomil Advance and see if that helps with his fussiness, he currently drinks Similac Advance Early Shield. Should I have his pedi determine if he needs to switch or can I just make the decision on my own?
Re: When should one switch to sensitive formula? I need help :(
Does he cry? Could it be reflux?
TTC#2=July 2011: Surprise BFP: Chemical Pregnancy
Crying/fussiness during eating and directly afterwards. Projectile vomiting and frequent spit ups. Becomes upset when laid down on his back after eating.
I would call your pedi to be on the safe side.
Matt has reflux. He spits up a lot, sometimes vomits, cries when he's done eating, arches his back after eating, has the hiccups a lot, and is still hungry after vomiting. We had switched him to a sensitive formula, and it helped a little, but last Wednesday we ended up in the ER with him because he threw up after every feeding. The pedi told us to go to the ER to rule out pyloric stenosis. They did an ultrasound and ruled it out, and determined that he had reflux. They put him on Zantac, and it seems to be helping.
we switched to Simalac Sensitive Liquid after going from EBF to powdered formual at 2weeks old....and we saw a difference in her (colic) crying and gass within two days. She seemed much happiers, barely any spitting up, and all in all a happier baby. We did not talk to her pedi before we switched...but like others have said, watch for reflux (i dont know much about that, sorry).
