How long are you taking progesterone supp. for?

Hi Everyone,

For those of you taking progesterone supplements, how long are you staying on them?  My doctor said I would be on them twice a day for 10 weeks, but I just found out that he meant my 10th week of pregnancy, so technically I will be on them for about 8 weeks, since I started progesterone right after ovulation and when I found out I was pregnant 2 weeks later they said they count the pregnancy at 4 weeks at that time.

    I think my Dr. said on or around the 10th week & my levels looked good I could then stop taking them.

    My dr said I should keep taking them bc they can't hurt, only help.  But I'm having twins and she said that it can help ward off pre-term labor. 

    I was really hoping last week she'd say I could stop, but oh well!

    just through the first tri, but i have a few left, so i'm not about to waste them, as my insurance barely covered them :/

    I will be on them until week 13.

    I was to be on them for the first tri, but bloodwork last week showed that my level was really good so I'm already off them.  I'm kinda scared, but I have to trust my doctor!

    I am off of them as of the 23rd, which will be 10 weeks into my pregnancy. I am looking forward to stopping them, as they're messy and make me discharge pinkish cm. At the same time, I'm sort of scared to go off of them for fear my progesterone will drop, but I was told my body should be producing enough of it on it's own at that point. I'm going to double check with my OB to make sure it's okay that I stop though!

    I take oral supp. 1 a day. Will stop in 7 days, which will be 12wk. 1 day. Have been on them since week 8.

     Have read it is safe to stop after wk 9. With Dr. approval of course! :) Just as a precaution most Docs prescribe for entire first trimester.
