I just wanted to check in with you all and see how everyone is doing.

I have to say I have been SUPER frustrated with this. It has been over a month now and AF hasnt showed herself. I have been super moody, im over the horrible headaches....THANK GOD. Those were KILLER.....

Im just so ansy and impatient, and freaking out alittle bit. ::::takes deep breath::::

Just wanted to share my frustration and hopefully we will all be on track sooner then later.....

Well, I didn't come off it recently, about 1.5 years ago. But I had a regular period for two months, and then it went wonky for 8 months. So I completely understand your frustration!

I'm over the worst of the effects now but it was killer for a while. The headaches were the worst! If I ever get pg, I will never go on BC again. My SIL said she can't wait to go back on after baby #3. I wouldn't want to go through the withdraw ever again. Anyway, feel better and stay with it. We're here for you.

Hii- I know exactly how you are feeling!! This is my first cycle of BCP and TTC and I am currently on cycle day 35 with no sign of ovulation of AF. We WILL get thru this, they always say the first cycle off is bound to be irregular! Here is to a very successful cycle 2 and babydust!!

I went off in July. I had been on OrthoTricyclen for about 9 years and had switched to Seasonique 6 months before going off. I didn't have any side effeccts at all coming off but i guess it is becaue Seasonique may have been less hormones or a different combination than Ortho, i don't know, but i had horrible mood swings while adjusting to Seasonique when i first switched over.

Anyway, my first cycle off BC was 35 days, then 28 and 28. I am currently on my 4th cycle off BC and 1st cycle TTC. I have heard of others who had much longer cycles when firsting get off BC so every body is different but it will regulate! Good luck!

It's so good to hear that others are feeling the same way about BC. I have hated hated hated every BC pill I have tried in the last 3 years. The most recent one took care of the majority of side effects I seem prone to, but I was left with one: zero sex drive. :-( After we got married in September, I went off the pill. At first I felt awful. Wicked headaches for the first two weeks! Also, I didn't get AF for about 50 days after I went off BC. I hate to think that anything I am taking daily would cause withdrawal, and it scares me to think about it.

I am not opposed to BC for religious beliefs, but recently DH and I have been thinking about NFP until we have our family, and then tying/snipping tubes. I dont want to be on BC for the rest of my fertile years. No way, no how.

Sorry! I've been off BCP since mid July and my cycles have been short. Longest was 28 days shortest was 24. But I wish you luck and hope AF or BFP comes soon.

I just took my last BCP on Saturday. I know AF will come in full force tomorrow (already spotting tonight). After that, we shall see. I'm sorry for the awful withdrawl you're experiencing. I have no idea what to expect, but I guess it's good to be aware of what might be ahead... Good luck to you!!!

Last cycle was my first off BC - it was 40 days and I don't think I O'd. I think long cycles make TTC even more frustrating. I had a ton of bloating and 2 bouts of phantom symptoms before AF finally showed. Last time I went off BCP, my cycles were 38, 49, and 41 days. I'm only on CD 11. Sigh. GL!

I just took my last BCP on 11/7. Two days later AF came and it ended 11/13. I'm just feeling things out. This is my first time being off BC and TTC. I think I was on a lower dose of BC and maybe that's why I'm not experiencing withdrawal headaches or anything else. We shall see....good luck to everyone!

Hi! I have been off BC since mid-Sept. My first cycle was normal for me....36 days. I am now on day 36 of cycle 2 and so far no signs of AF. I would love to think it's because I'm KU but honestly I'm not even sure if I've ovulated yet! I will definitely wait at least a couple more weeks before testing.

I have had no major problems with coming of BC. I was on Yaz, which I loved because I had no cramps and no acne! Now I have moderate cramps and moderate acne like before I went on the pill, but no more headaches or mood swings than usual. I probably will not go back on BC until I've decided that I'm done having kids, especially since reading TCOYF. I didn't realize before how the hormones were affecting my body, and now I'm worried that it will take a long time for me to be fertile again.

I'm on my 2nd cycle off. 1st was 37 days- awful bloating, headaches, sick to my stomach, waking up with severe cramps, dizziness, and zits! yeah, fun. I was on for 8 years and a higher dose (Junel Fe). Although I will admit I had most of those symptoms prior to being on BC and that was one of the reasons I was on. 2 days before AF I felt normal again and have felt fine since.

Those of you out there replying to this- keep in touch and let use know how future cycles go...unless you get BFP and have no more! = )

I agree with those of you who never want to go on again after this!

I finished my last Nuva ring at the beginning of Oct. That first cycle was 28 days, which only makes me suspicious. This one might be longer... According to my temp shift, I think I ovulated on day 18 (now on day 21), but I had a temp shift, then a fall, then today back up (I wrote another post about this)... So we shall see. Anyway I haven't had headaches, but my period was longer and somewhat heavier. I expect it to get worse like it was before BC. Good luck to you all!

I stopped BCP on 8/25, and have had cycles of 34, and 28 days. Right now I am on CD 18 and I'm pretty sure I'm Oing today. In general I've been okay, but I did have terrible cramps for about 12 hours when AF came a couple weeks ago. I was in bed all day they were so bad. I am hoping they don't return.

I have been off of BC for a month now and that was our first month TTC...no luck...got AF a little earlier than what my "normal on BC" time would be but only by a few days...so I'm taking OV tests every day since now I really don't know when that will be...although last month when I was first off and taking tests it seemed I was right on the standard 28 day cycle and the OV test showed positive right around the 14 day window which was surprising...did everything we could but just didn't take I guess....now we're back to trying...good luck to you all and keep your fingers crossed for us too...I know its only our second month trying but we're just so excited that its easy to get your hopes up!

Oh I'm so glad I'm not the only one that's frustrated and wants it RIGHT NOW!

I went of BC in Sept of last year and didn't get a period until Aug this year. It sucked because I was very regular after I went on the pill, so concerning. I have been getting AF regularly now every 28-31 days..still hoping, but glad I'm not the only one in this boat.

It's hard too when ALL of your friends are pregnant and seem to get pregnant so fast! That coupled with everyone telling you not to think about it-mmm kinda hard not to!!

I stopped BCP in late August...I had spotting and a light AF for about 3 days 20days after stopping the pill, then 10 days later had spotting, light, heavy, spotting spotting. And then another 20 days for a full cycle 7 days. So I'm hoping this next cycle is similar....I just started temping mid cycle, but have checked CM so I have a slight idea when I O'd. I agree about NFP after Baby 1, hoping baby 1 is sooner then later! I can't even imagine having to go through getting a normal cycle again to TTC. Good Luck to all!!!!!!

Got off BCPs Oct. 09... Cycle was 30 days, and had the worst cramps of my life... the worst part of being off the pill... hopefully I'll get KU so I don't have to go through that again for 9 months! Wink

I took my last pill on October 28 and had my withdrawal bleeding/CD 1 on Nov 2. I'm currently on CD 16 and have not O'ed yet.

We had planned for me to go off the pill a few months before we actively TTC so that we have a chance to see if my cycles are regular, ovulatory, etc since I've been on BC for 10 years. I've only gone off of it for a month at two separate times - one was dr. related and the other was due to a change in insurance and not being able to get my new prescription in time. Both of those times I remember the withdrawal bleeding and then a period about a month later. I don't know if those were ovulatory or the LP lengths because this is my first cycle charting.

I'm hoping everything regulates and I'm excited to be charting and learning more about my cycle/body.

Went off BC in late August. 1st cycle was 35 days, 2nd was 32 days, and 3rd is due in 5-10 days. I was on BC for 8 years and was always around 28 days. Pretty normal as far as symptoms go - a headache within 24 hours and bad cramps and nausea for a day or so.

I went off BC in August, and after initial AF, I've only had 2 cycles, both anovulatory. 1st was 42 days, now I'm on day 49 of cycle 2. I've had cramps for days, but no AF yet. Needless to say, I'm very frustrated!

hi everyone i am nes to the nest bu i have to comment on all this i came off BC at the end of sept and i have also had terrible headaches that was a about a week before my period started i have been bleeding for almost three weeks now so frustrating i can't have sex cuz the bleeding and one day i bleed then next i dont just a pain in the butt. i called the ob doc and she said it is very normal i just wanna try and get pregnant and its very hard when you keep bleeding like this. did anybody go thru this?
