DS was diagnosed with reflux and my pedi said to start mixing infant cereal with his formula. I swear I remember her saying 1 tablespoon for every ounce. This stuff is SUPER thick though. Do you use 1 tablespoon or one teaspoon per ounce??
I BF but the GI doc we went to said that we could add 1 TB to start and go up to 2 TB. After speaking with an LC I decided not to do it. DD primarily nurses so your situation is different.
GI Specialist has us do 2 tsp per oz. ..... but I'm sure your pedi might have meant 1 tsp ... not 1 tblsp .... call 'em back and double check ... you could be right
I think it all depends n the severity of the reflux. We use 1 Tbs per oz. It's really, really thick...almost like sludge. I would call and double check though.
I started with one teaspoon for every 4 ounces of formula and water. We are now at 3-4 teaspoons to every 6 ounces of formula and water. She's been doing pretty good too! She's been on this since 7 weeks with Zantac.
