F/U to Question about movement...

https://community.thebump.com/cs/ks/forums/thread/26157607.aspx

I've attached my orginal post from this morning.

F/U- still no movement- even after hot chocolate, a starbucks coffee, frosted flakes and a banana.  I have called my OB and left a message but I doubt anyone is going to call me back this late in the afternoon.  I am contemplating going straight to triage or to walgreens to get a stethoscope...

What is the longest you've gone at 22 weeks not feeling movement?  I am almost in tears at this point, it just seems to out of character for him...he has always been super active...

Re: F/U to Question about movement...

  • I went an entire day with no movement, three days with only a few random/light kicks.

:Edit: Just realized I also posted in your original thread. :) Seriously, I think you're fine. Babies just do this sometimes. The OB nurse said they'd have me come in and listen to the heartbeat if it would make me feel better. Maybe they'll do the same for you.

  • Can you call L&D instead of your OB? They might be able to put your nerves at ease. I completely understand how worried you must be. Hope LO is okay!
  • OP, I know how you feel, my LO is being awfully quiet.  I'm about to track her down with the doppler.  But from what I read (What to expect) that it is common to have some quiet days based on the position of the fetus.  I won't lie, I'm secretly panicking.  But I'm sure everything is ok.

  • Hey there....calm down and take a deep breath!   I totally understand why you must be upset - but I was just reading last night in my WTE book and its pretty common to not feel regular movement until around 28 weeks.   It also said that some women have movement they can set their watches by and others have more infrequent movement. YOu don't actually start kick counts until 28 wks (accd to WTE).

BUT...you are going to make yourself sick over it so it might be better to head to the ER just for peace of mind.

GL and let us know what happens!!!

  • Have your DH listen to your belly tonight.  My DH hears her heartbeat in there!  I wish I could bend down and listen to it myself.  But seriously, do that tonight and see what happens.  If you don't feel the baby tonight when you're resting, I'd call the doc first thing.  GL, tell us what happens ok?
  • I just got back from my doctors and she said it is still pretty early to be concerned about lack of movement. She said its completely normal to go a day or 2 without movement. I didn't read the original post so I'm not sure how long its been for you. Hope you hear from your OB soon! GL!

  • Okay, nurse just called and told me to come in and they will check for the heartbeat.  She told me that everything is more than likely fine but that she wants me not to worry.  So I am posting this, shutting down and heading straight there.  To be honest I hate to be that woman that freaks out for nothing but I am worried and on the verge of tears and I know myself well enough to know that I will be worried all night.

Thanks ladies, you are all such a great support system!

You are not alone!!  I was freaking out too, until I just checked on her with a doppler at home.  We are all a little nervous to some extent, I know I keep most of my worries to myself so I don't come across as the batshit crazy lady  Embarrassed
