Bloody Show or Spotting from Internal

Just had my 39 week internal and am only 1.5 cm dilated, 50% effaced. So, only a measly .5 cm change since last check. *sigh* Ah, oh well!

Since this mornings exam though, I've noticed some blood tinged / pink discharge when I wipe. Not sure if this is my "bloody show" or just an after effect of the internal. Hmmmm. 

 Any thoughts?

    When I had my bloody show, it was a lot in the toilet and then when I wiped it was mucousy on the toilet paper and it was like that every time I went to the restroom. I always had a little bit of blood after internals, but not like my bloody show. If it is your bloody show, you can be starting labor, but it might still take days before you go into active labor. I remember being so excited, yet frustrated when I had my bloody show, because it meant I was close, but I didnt know how close! (I ended up being in labor and went to L&D at 11:30 that night)

    i've had bloody show the last couple days and then had my 39 week appt. and internal today too... my doc said i'd probably have more spotting from the internal. did you doc scrape your membrane? that would cause some bleeding or may have started you losing your mucus plug.

    No, the doc didn't scrape my membranes. Had 3 internals prior to this with no spotting, so this just had me wondering. It doesn't help that I'm feeling super restless and antsy. Crossing my fingers this is a sign of progression...

     And I'm jealous!!  I'm 39 weeks today(I never updated the ticker) and had my appt yesterday. 0 dilation.

    Good luck, and I hope things progress a wee bit faster for you!

    Aw -- no need to be jealous b/c apparently checking for dilation/effacement means practically nothing. Today as I left my docs office -- he said " See you next week...or perhaps tonight!" GAH!
