She said that I'm generally so healthy that I don't need to worry too much about my age and she's made me aware of testing options, etc, but hasn't pushed anything on me.
Ha! I got it too. I turned 35 last year so I'll be close to 36. I thought it was funny and use it to make jokes when anyone (everyone) asks me how I'm feeling.
I am 35 now and turn 36, then my due date is four days after I turn 36.
My Dr has been pretty laid back about it but is sending me to a more intense 3D -4D ultrasound for my 20week. It kind of bothered me at first when the only reason for it was my age...but I'm trying to focus on the fact I'll have really great, clear pictures of our baby!!
My doctor wrote "AMA" in big letters on my chart! He did that after explaining the reasoning and was actually being funny about it. I turn 37 two months after I have the baby.
When my mom found out I was pregnant she asked if I was considered high risk since I'm "too old to have babies".. That was at the ripe old age of 31.. I informed her girls these days don't all have babies when they are 21.
That would be me! At my first Appt, the 12 yr old resident that was taking my history told me: "Well, it looks like you only have two risks factors - This will be your third section and your age". Thanks Doogie Houser!
I will be 33 this week. I went to my NT scan a couple weeks ago and the 20 something u/s tech asked my age. When I told her, she said "good for you". Really?? I said I was 32, not 62.

Re: "When you have this baby you will be of Advanced Maternal Age"
ouch! Yeah that would defiantly get a punch!
THIS would've definitely warranted a punch!
Ditto this. Of course you aren't old and I know so many people who have kids at 35+, but the risks do change at that age.
Wow, my doc's been really cool about it.
