This is a list of women who are dealing with PCOS. Anyone can join in, so let me know if you want to be on this list! We can keep track of everyone?s cycle, offer advice, and support for each other. We check in every Tuesday and Thursday, and the check-ins can always be found in the PCOSbio.
Good luck and lots of sticky baby dust to everyone!

QOTD: Have you seen a counselor/psychologist to help deal with PCOS/Infertility?
Re: ~*~*~ PCOS Check-In ~*~*~ SAIFW
QOTD: Have you seen a counselor/psychologist to help deal with PCOS/Infertility?
I haven't yet, but I will be starting a RESOLVE peer group soon
I would like to be on the list. I was diagnosed in 2007 and been TTC since Nov 2008.
QOTD: I haven't seen any counselor/psychologist to deal with IF, I usually find support on the bump boards.
I'm doing ok...on BCP right nowf or my cyst.
QOTD: I haven't met with any counselors or psychologists.
TI, IUIs, IVF = c/ps and BFNs
I'm still crusin' along on Met, and as usual, frustrated with my doc and thinking of switching... not that I have much hope for the next one!
QOTD: Never seen a counselor for PCOS/infertility, but I probably should! Right now, DH is my sounding board...

Keep it Natural, Baby!
I'm still in the 2ww. Got my bloodwork results back and it showed that I did O this time!!! YAY!! Probably hold out another week on testing.
QOTD: No, I have not.
This is another break month for us. I will be out of town around trigger without husband so will be starting combo femara & bravelle in dec.
QOTD: No I haven't yet but like pp, DH is my support.
I would like to be on the list. I just found out in Oct I have PCOS.
QOTD: No just talking to my DH like the pp.
Update: IVF #1 is in progress. On BCPs now & should be done by next Tuesday. Then hopefully starting meds next Saturday.
QOTD: Nope I sure haven't. I have a great support system in you ladies as well as a few close family & friends. Sure I have my bad days but I definitely have a good support system that helps a ton!
Hi! I'm going for my first U/S on Monday.
QOTD: I have not felt the need to do so.
I've been away from the check in for a while, but wanted to stop in and say hello and good luck to all of you ladies! I was diagnosed with PCOS in May 07 and conceived our twin boys in July 08 after follistim and b2b IUIs. I'm really excited because I've found an endocrinologist who is going to help me with the metabolic issues surrounding my PCOS without automatically putting me on birth control. It has taken me years to find her and I'm hopeful for the future.
QOTD: I saw a counselor several times for my IF. I went to her on a recommendation of a friend and it happened that the counselor herself had been through IF. It was an incredibly valuable experience.
After a PCOS dx, 18 months of trying, 3 rounds of clomid and 2 follistim IUIs our babies are here!
Just took my last Clomid of my first cycle last ngiht, so just waiting to see what happens.
QOTD: I have not seen anyone yet. So far my mom and DH have been very helpful, but if I need to I will...wouldn't be the first time:)
I O'd sometime over the weekend, so I guess I'm in the dreaded 2WW.
QOTD: I haven't. That's what this board is to me.
My beta is in the morning. Not super hopeful and it's really getting to me today.
QOTD- Nope, not yet. I have a great support system though.
Just upped my Met yesterday (500mg two times a day). Going to the doc this afternoon . . . she wants to talk to me about my b/w. It's my regular doc, so no telling what she found
QOTD: I have seen a psychiatrist in the past, but not for PCOS/IF reasons. I would not hesitate to go back
Married 1/2/99.

QOTD: Not yet, but I'm starting to think that I should. I've been having a rough time with it the past three weeks.
Just waiting to ovulate. I'm still losing weight, which is great. Only 5 more pounds to my goal weight.
QOTD: I haven't talked to anyone about it yet. If I'm not KU by next year, i'm sure I'll seek out someone.

QOTD: Have you seen a counselor/psychologist to help deal with PCOS/Infertility?
I haven't seen anyone yet.
Currently in a break month. I'm excited to start IUI with injectables in December.
First u/s is on Thursday. Not expecting to see much since I'm only 5 weeks and a few days but we're excited either way. Actually, I'm ridiculously nervous but that's to be expected aI guess
QOTD: No, I haven't

Still waiting for AF to arrive, have spotting but barely and I was due on the tenth. I guess I'm supposed to wait until the 24th (14 days after last Prometrium pill) to worry but I took one pg test on the 10th and one on the 15th and both were BFFN's.
QOTD: No, but my husband will likely need one soon if I keep using him to tell all my troubles to. I just wish I had an IRL girlfriend who I could talk to about this, but no one gets it. I couldn't afford a counselor though I could probably talk to my priest. I may just do that...
Hey ladies! I have a consult with the nurse at a new RE's office. I'm really excited about it. Then on Thursday I have my first acupuncture appointment. We just got the basic results from Dh's SA: everything looks good! Exciting week in the IF world for us.
QOTD: I haven't been but wouldn't hesitate if I thought I was in need of one.
Currently pg with our 1st after 6.5 yrs of IF (thank you IVF)

***My posts are always SAIFW**
So we got DH's SA results today and they are, according to my doctor, "All normal - Great News!" And he emailed it to me just like that too
I am relieved about that for sure, and when I called to tell DH, I could tell he was happy too. I'm sure the entire fire department now knows that he has good swimmers ... they are way too sharing over there, but it's okay.
I started provera again yesterday, so AF should be here in about 10 days. Then we're trying Clomid 50mg next cycle and see what happens. My doctor told me to test at CD35, which if I calculate right will be New Year's Day! A BFP would be a great way to start the new year, that's for sure.
QOTD: I haven't yet, but I have supportive friends who let me vent when I need to.

I'm on day 4 of Provera, so AF should be arriving in a little over a week. Just got DH's SA results back: good volume but only 20% normal. My GYN is referring us to a fertility clinic. I'm waiting to get an appointment--who knows when that will be...
QOTD: This is all so new to us that we've barely had time to wrap our brains around most of it. I'll probably look into seeing someone next year.
Good luck to everyone!

Surprise BFP January 2012!
Right now I am starting to spot; so AF is right around the corner. This is our second cycle TTC #2 since m/c in August. So far it appears I am ovulating since I lost weight and continue to take 1500mg of Met. DH and I are going to return to the RE since we are still not pg. We have a consult on Dec. 7
QOTD: No I have not. I talk to DH and use this board for support. It is what it is! I am trying to change the things I can contol (diet and exercise).
QOTD: No - I have not. I haven't really given it much thought.
Update: I triggered this morning for the first time! I had two good follicles yesterday. We're trying time intercourse with the trigger. We may move on to IUI in a couple cycles if we aren't successful this way. I am just happy to know I'm responding to the femara and finally ovulating!
Let us know how you are doing. If you have any questions for the group to answer, feel free to ask.
This is the first cycle we are TTC since our miscarriage in August. I am currently in the 2WW and this cycle I did Femara, Follistim and Met. I am currenlty on 400 mg of Progesterone...
QOTD: Have you seen a counselor/psychologist to help deal with PCOS/Infertility?
No. My faith in God, church my husband and the bump have all been helping me on this journey...
IVF#1: start stims 1/26; ER 2/8; ET 2/13= BFN; FET#1: May 2010= m/c *NEW CLINIC Jan 2011* IVF#2: start stims 1/12; ER 1/22; ET 1/27= BFN; IVF#3: TBD
~SAIFW/PAIFW~
I am 5dpo today. Just waiting till sometime next week to test.
QOTD: yes, I see a counselor to help deal with the infertility. It really helps
I am doing alright. Should be ovulating soon, so it is just a matter of time at the moment.
qotd: I thought about seeing someone a few years ago and most recently my doctor suggested it when I broke down in his office (luckily he is a great listener). I even started researching my insurance options, but i have never made the call. Sometimes I feel like I need to speak to a priest, but I haven't established a relationship with any of them around here.
*PCOS bio* *Cold Hands, Warm Heart*
Can you add me?
My name is Mary Beth...I have PCOS, and we've been TTC#2 since 9/09.
TTC #2 since 9/09 --- mild PCOS; Endometriosis
IUI x4 = BFN
IVF = sometime in 2012
We are on a break until I lose 20 pounds. Hopefullyy we will start our injectables in Jan or Feb.
QOTD: I probably should as sometimes it takes a toll. My anniversary board is a great support for me right now though.
QOTD - no, but my marriage got REALLY rocky. we were dealing with our grief and stress in different ways. my husband was becoming withdrawn, and i resented it. my ex bf started paying me a lot of attention so i didn't miss DH as much. this kept building up over about 6 months until we seperated for about two weeks - went to couples therapy once and realized WTF were we thinking? and we've been a happier, stronger couple all because of that ONE hour session. So i seriously beleive that counseling is a good thing when needed!
Update - my FET was today! bring on the 2ww!
Tara & Dave - TTC since September 2006
PCOS - dx 1999 (amenorrhea) | freakishly long fallopian tubes
Hypoglycemic | thyroid issues | severely anemic
Multiple Clomid cycles of 50, 100, 150 - absolutely no response
Follistim 50/100 | Follistim 75/125 | Follistim 100/150 IUI - all BFNs
Converted IVF - BFP - m/c | FET - BFN | IVF #2 = BFN
IVF #3
Hi ladies, it's been a while since I made a check-in. It's great to read up on everyone. As for me, I've been on estrogen and just added in provera yesterday, so hopefully I see af in 10ish days. God, I hope! Provera didn't work for me before due to a thin lining. My insulin, GTT and dh's SA all tested normal. Still, I'm trying to decide if I should get on met to lower testosterone levels...any thoughts?
QOTD: Have you seen a counselor/psychologist to help deal with PCOS/Infertility?
--No, though I do talk to dh a lot about it and my best friend.
