Had mine stripped Friday, not in labor yet. Basically during an internal the doctor goes up a little higher with 2 fingers and sweeps the area where your cervix attached to the bag of waters. Uncomfortable but not too painful. I did have some cramping but no bleeding after.

I had it done twice (38 and 39 week appointmet) with DD#1 and it hurt like hell but did nothing. I didn't end up delivering until 40 weeks 3 days. There is always a chance that when it's done, your water will break.

Can you enlighten me on why they usually strip membranes??
My OB said he would so that he can deliver me before he goes on vacation (lol).
I had mine stripped Thursday and it didn't work.
I am going to ask to have mine stripped again tomorrow.
I hope it works.
Labor dust to all!
