I know my employer will offer FMLA, but I don't know that I'll have enough vacation and sick time to cover the full 12 weeks off (and staying home w/o income is a scary thought, even though I know we can survive off DH paycheck). I'm starting to get bummed because I want to stay home with our new LO as long as possible. Does anyone know if short-term disability is available for pregnancy? I know California does, but not too sure about NV. Just about 6 weeks pregnant, so I have a little bit of time to research.
Re: Nevada disability leave?
It depends on what your employer offers in its benefit plan. Mine does offer an STD plan. So, I'm able to take advantage of 4-6 weeks STD (depending on vaginal or section) and then use my personal time off. Check with your HR dept.
