They just called to confirm it and go over what we need to do beforehand. It isn't a major surgery. He was born with an extra thumb, we are getting it removed to enable him to have better movement of his thumb and so that he doesn't get teased by other kids when he goes to school.
The main thing I am worried about is the fact that he sucks that thumb, to go to sleep, if he is nervous, upset, etc. I am going to have a very unhappy little boy for awhile.

He did before he found his thumb, so maybe he might take one. When he finds one now he likes to chew on it.
Good luck. My DS adapted very well to having a cast after surgery for his finger. He did like to use it as a weapon, though-lol. Is he going to have a baseball cast? We switched to mainly straw sippies in the interim because they were easier for him to hold, he didn't have to tilt them up.
DS sucks on his arm and just switched arms after surgery. He adapted to being a lefty very easily too. He'll probably stay one.
He took FOREVER to come out of it after surgery though, which was nerve wracking. Although I got an amusing glance before surgery of what my drunk DS will look like in 18 years....
