Ok, so I will admit I haven't read any of the books yet. I almost bought one the other day but wasn't really sure I would like it. Please tell me what the basics are for the books and what everyone loves. I just want to know what I'm missing.

    It's all about Edward. Edward is so wonderfully amazing!  

    That said the books are about vampires, but it's more of a romance series than anything else. They are quick and addicting reads.

    Basics: Good vampire wants to be even better+emo girl=love.  Also lots of rain and whining about rain.

    What everyone loves:  I still have no idea(even though I love them) most people agree that the pages must be lined with crack.  It's probably just that Edward is a gentlemanly bad boy.

    Classic YA romance: love, loss, jealousy, and some hot guys to boot.

    Get the first one from the library. If you hate it, no prob. If you love it, you can get obsessed with the rest of us ;)

    I bought the first one on a whim.  Tore through it in less than 24 hours.  Had ants in my pants to get the rest.  You've been warned.

    I agree with the crack in the pages. They are just seriously addicting. Don't go into it expecting a piece of masterpiece literature, but they are really really good. And Edward is hot.  You just fall in love with the characters.

    ok, that makes more sense now, to just look at it as something fun to read and a nice romance story. i could use something light like that too read. i heard about the crack on the pages, hahaha maybe there is. good idea to get it out of the library in case i don't like it, they are expensive! i'm reading the heavy duty eat, pray, love right now so it would be nice to have something easy

    They are definitely easy. You can read each book in like a day. They are written for teenage girls.
