Does this seem ridiculous re: baby names

Just to torture mysef I frequent lurk and post on the Baby Names board.

Why do people create polls, ask for name suggestions for both first and middle name, plus spelling, when they are not planning to TTC in a year or so?  Seems ridiculous to me.  Of course those people will probably conceive on their first cycle. Wink

TTC since 3-08 IVF # 1 Dec 2011 BFP DD born at 31 weeks 6-24-12

FET #1 Dec 2013 BFN

FET # 2 Feb 2014 BFN

No more frosties

IVF #2. September 2014

PGD yielded 2 perfect 5d blasts

SET November 9, 2014
Nov 23, 2014. Another BFN

Not sure where to go from here.

    It seems even more ridiculous to make a poll to let strangers pick your baby name or even have input. IMHO

    Ha, good question!  My DH and I waited a few years after we were married to start TTC because we wanted to be in a financial position where I could be a stay at home mom.  During that time I definitely had babies on the brain and thought about names, strollers, nurseries, etc.  Of course, now I wish we would have started TTC on our honeymoon!  Oh well, I guess hindsight is 20/20.

      True.  And some of those name are a bit out there.

    I love when people want honest opinions about names and then get p!ssed when people say it's awful too.  lol  I never even posted our names over there because while our boy name is somewhat common (top 150 last 2-3 years), our girl name is extremely uncommon (never in top 100, ever).
