Toddler & Babies bed time question

Our oldest DD goes to bed at 8.  We've been putting the babies to bed right after her.  Last night we tried getting them to bed earlier b/c I know when older DD was a baby she was in bed by 7 for a LONG time.  It went miserable.  So my question is do you guys put the babies to bed before or after your toddler and how to you handle it either way.

    We feed the babies then put them to bed. Right after that we get our toddler into her pjs and brush her teeth. Then we sit together on the couch and read a story or two and then put her to bed. This usually happens around 8 pm.

    The babies go to bed after our toddler in this house. We put our toddler down at 8:30 and M&K dont go down until I feed them at 10pm. We did the same for Rachel when she was a baby. After i stop BFing we slowly work the bed time up.

    When the baby was really little we put him to bed after the bigger boys.  Now we have figured out that he needs an earlier bed time so here is what we do:

    4:30 the nanny gives the big boys their baths (this is a HUGE help with our bedtime routine)

    5:45ish dinner

    6:15 baby upstairs for bath/wipe down while older boys finish dinner

    6:45 I nurse the baby and put him down by 7:00

    7:00 - 7:30 we take the big boys upstairs for brushing teeth, changing PJ's if they got dirty during dinner, story, prayers, etc.

    7:30 - 8:00 lights out.

    At first I was very concerned about the older boys making noise and waking up the baby.  In actuality, it's only happened once.  And now that the baby goes down by 7:00 he's been sleeping until 6:30AM.  When his bedtime was later he would be up at 4:00 or 5:00.
