Once again my poor stepmom is dealing with silly people who have no filter at her job. Apparently they do not grasp the whole concept of "yes I will be grandma even if I am not "the real mom".

We went to drop some stuff off for her at her office and walked in to see her at her desk with a pair of big fluffy earmuffs on and a sign which read

"For all work related info please ask away...for all other inquaries about the upcoming birth of my grandchild please refer to sign number 2."

the second sign read...

"She is due jan 19th. It's a girl. all other inquaries please direct to my email and make sure to label the subject "baby stuff that is really non of my buisness but I'm nosey and must be involved in the lives of others and give my opinions even if the are unwanted". That way I will know to delete it.

apparently someone asked her if she and dad got anything for penny and when she showed them a picture of the crib the woman said..."really? Don't you think that should be the privilage of her real grandmother to get? I mean why not just get her a gift card and leave the important things to her family."

She keeps thretening to cover all of the toliets with sarran wrap and put super glue on all of the office chairs...and I think she is close to doing this! lol

Wow - that's super ignorant of people. I don't know your situation; iof you're close with your mom, if she's passed etc, but I think it's wonderful that your stepmom is as excited as she obviously is. Family comes in all forms and some of the best of mine isn't biological.

my parents split when I was very young and remarried within a year. i don't rememeber a time when A) they were even together or B)when SM or SD wasn't sround. to me I have 4 parents

and emily yes she should get a gold star...I think that sign should be given to pregnant women everywhere! lol

Wow, some people should just keep their mouths shut. I think it is great that you have a good relationship with them and that they want to be involved and are excited for the baby. I can totally relate though. I love my stepmom and my stepbrothers and I seriously hate when people say stuff like, "oh, so he's not your real brother". What makes him not my real brother.

Thats for your stepmoms sign! Sorry she has had to go thur all the ingnorant BS of her coworkers! Some people need to learn to bite there tounges when its none of there business.

That's too bad that people are giving your stepmom a hard time. My DH's mom died when he was young so his stepmom has been mom for a long time and neither one of us would consider her anything but the "real grandma"
