Pregnant with IUD

What's the rate of pregnancy/effectiveness of these?  Seems like there are a couple of people on here who got pregnant while using an IUD.  What did your doctors say when you found out you were pregnant?

  • I found out last week I was pregnant on mirena (it was still in place), however we lost the baby.
  • I have a friend who has a baby boy, who she got pg for while using a IUD. I don't know if there is any link, but has had alot of health issues.

  • I haven't gotten pregnant with mine, but before my doctor put it in he warned me about it. Their practice puts in 500+ a year, and usually get two or three pregnancies a year. It seemed like good odds to me.

  • I am a nurse in an OB/gyn Clinic...the effectiveness rates they quite for an IUD are if it is in place correctly. Most failures are caused by an expulsion or it moving to the wrong place, therefore not protecting you from pregnancy. They don't really give stats on how often that happens,or at least I am not aware of them. In our practice maybe 1-2 in 100 I am guessing
