I probably won't be any help! I always have a really hard time thinking of what to get my in laws. They have a lot of money and usually just buy whatever they want whenever they want it. My FIL has a good sense of humor so we usually get him something funny (last year it was a kid's spy kit and mustache set, which he loved). MIL is tricky. I don't even remember what we got her last year. Fortunately this year turned out to be an easy year. They are moving out of the house they raised their kids in soon so we are having an artist create a painting of the house for them to hang in their new home. I hope someone has some creative ideas for you!
TTC with unexplained IF since 8/2007
6 losses, one beautiful perfect boy in our arms
I only have a MIL and she's pretty easy to buy for. She also has a really good sense of humor. We usually get 1 serious gift (B&BW stuff most of the time) and a bunch of small gag gifts

My ILs have everything so it is so hard to shop for them. They always tell us to get them nothing but they are so generous with us that I just can't not get them something. So this year there is a fancy french restaurant that MIL really wants to go to but FIL doesn't want to spend the money on so we are getting them a gift certificate there.
My SIL is my real chore though. She lives with ILs because she is disabled and has no qualms telling me I have choosen the absolute worst gifts for her. She doesn't know any better so I just laugh and tell her I try, but I have only once in 9 yrs gotten her a gift she liked, even though I follow her very strict instructions on what she wants.

That's a tough one. I always have a hard time trying to figure out what to get my mil.
FIL: a giftcard to Home Depot b/c I am really mad at him and refuse to put any thought into his gift
MIL: a piece from the Spode Dishes Christmas Tree collection. She collects them.
Me: PCOS/Amenorrhea DH: Azoospermia due to Y Chromosome Micro Deletion IVF w/ ICSI on hold until further notice
Hope
UGH! Seriously, my in-laws are the worst to buy for! I gave up years ago and make DH solely responsible for getting them
Sorry, that was no help!
