I am now 72 hours after delivery, and my ankles just now began to swell, and they are HUGE! I also feel sore around my bottom of my rib cage in front and back. (could that be organs settling?)
I didn't have that with #1 but with #2 I had BAD BAD swelling post section.
I seriously couldn't move my feet they were so swollen. Walking down the stairs made me feel like my feet would split open.
Then about a week and a half or so after delivery I woke up DRENCHED in sweat. My body finally started letting go of some of that water and the swelling started to subside.
I'm not sure if it's "normal" or not but I did experience what you're experiencing right now.
Our IF journey: 1 m/c, 1 IVF with only 3 eggs retrieved yielding Dylan and a lost twin, 1 shocker unmedicated BFP resulting in Jace, 3 more unmedicated pregnancies ending in more losses.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
I never had swelling while I was pg, but after I delivered my legs/feet were horribly swollen. I questioned the nurse and she said it was from all the fluids I had received and also not moving around as much as I would have normally been moving. I also had a c/s so not sure if that also played a role or not. It went away once I started moving around more and drinking more fluids to get rid of it.

Can't answer the rib cage question, but I had pretty bad swelling for a couple of days after I delivered. ?Prepare to sweat. ?Drink plenty of fluids (gatorade helped in addition to a lot of water) and be prepared to change your pjs at least once during the night. ?I dripped for several days and then woke up one day with my feet back to normal! ?It was heaven!

Oh god I remember the swelling. It was horrible. It was my cheif complaint while I was recovering - yes after delivering twins via cs my only complaint was swelling - it was that bad. Drink lots of water and have some one rub your feet and legs every night. This was a huge help. It really helped move the fluid around. And drink lots of water. I didn't experience anything like that with the rib cage - sorry.

lots of lotion, then lots of laundry ;-)
yes, my feet and ankles were swollen more after delivery than during pg.
ditto the night sweats as you return to normal.
I don't know about the rib pain.
