I knew the end would start to get freakish looking w/ size here, LOL, but I figured I'd still be able to find something to wear!
I'm 29w now, I was measuring 36w at my appt on Thurs this week. Anyhow, I'm wondering WTH I'll wear soon! I borrowed some bigger sized shirts from a friend, but what's happening is that the clothes are getting boxier, not longer. So now the shirts are big width-wise but too short and my belly is going to be exposed, LOL! It's like I'm growing out, not around.
Any rec's on where to buy clothes to fit?
Re: Maternity Clothes for Multiple Pregnancies?
I had the best luck with these:
https://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=5804&vid=1&pid=637491&scid=637491012
I'm normally a XL so I bought XXL, big at first, but awesome at the end.
i was a size 14/16 when i got pg with the twins- so i had to get HUGE maternity clothes to fit over my belly! thankfully they are making them longer now than they did even just 2 yrs ago- because shirts i got when pg with my first did not cover my belly- and it wasn't too hard to find them with this pg.
Granted- towards the end i wore a lot of sundresses - not even maternity- just normal sized maxi dresses - they'd cover my belly - and i could wear them afterwards, too... but you can't do that in the winter.
target online had a lot of good XXL stuff that i wore.
I have no idea but wanted to say I'm in the same boat. I was measuring 40 cm at my last appt, but it must be different because my clothes still fit me at the end of my other pregnancies! I have tanks, tees, etc. from many different stores and hardly anything covers my belly anymore! I have one old maternity tank from Old Navy that still goes down to the bottom (it used to have a lot of extra bunch at the bottom), so that makes it a little better when I wear it under other shirts.
Have you tried stretching them lengthwise under an iron? I've had to do this for years with sleeves because I'm tall. Thankfully, sleeves have finally gotten longer in recent years!
I just bought a few long-sleeve maternity tees from Target that seem like they may fit/be long enough to carry me through. I'm normally a S or M, but got Ls; they're long but not too loose fitting. That's the key I think at this point -- buying fitted styles but in a larger size. They may not be quite as fitted or "slim" as what you'd normally wear, but they won't totally swallow you width-wise. It seems so silly to buy new clothes with only 8 or 9 weeks to go, but I was running out of things to wear too.
I've also found a couple of longer non-maternity cardigans that I've worn as layering pieces, which may cover up shirts that are getting too short. And you may be able to wear those post-pregnancy too.
After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
Thanks for the suggestions, I'll look into those cami's at ON, that may be the way to go so I can stretch my l/s shirts longer.
And also thanks for NOT saying, "Wear your husband's clothes" LMAO. I swear every book says that. And well, while it might work for some, my DH is 5'7" and 150 pounds, so his clothes aren't all that big on me when I'm NOT pregnant, haha! Pre-PG I was a size 8 and I'll never forget the day he almost went to work wearing MY suit pants. Talk about something that makes you feel bad about yourself
. Anyway, so clearly his clothes won't work either (though some sweatshirts do, those are nice around the house).
Im 5 11 and had a big problem with my belly showing. Gap shirts worked best for me until the very end when nothing helped. I ended up wearing a belly band in white under a white maternity tank with a Tshirt over.
This reminds me though...I put on a maternity tank last week and it went to my mid thigh. had to laugh because at the end of the pregnancy it was at my belly button. lol
