Why - Lots of reasons; initially Placenta Previa (resolved), PTL with dilation and effacement; Now PIH.
Question of the Day - Where have you taken your favorite vacation, and do you plan to return?
First of all, HAPPY BIRTHDAY CARLYN!!!!!! I love to travel and we do so a lot. We try to get away once a year by ourselves, and leave DS with my parents. It is good for everyone. We tend to go to Florida the most often when we travel as a family because my ILs live there; but my favorite place to vacation is hands down Puerto Rico. We bought timeshare there two years ago, and we were not able to go in 2009 because of my pregnancy, so we have two weeks available in 2010. We will plan to go in the spring for a week before hurricane season starts, and I am lobbying to go as a family of 4. It is a family friendly resort, and it is still the US, so once DD is born, we will start the planning for that vacation! Can't wait!!! We will probably trade the week for a different spot and go as a couple but later in the year for sure, when DD is not EBF.
Updates- Nothing new to report from yesterday. Still doing the 24 hour urine, and not really sleeping at night, just taking a series of naps. DH took DS to the Maryland - VA Tech football game today. They are tailgating and should have a good time. The Noreaster has moved out and the sun may actually peek through the clouds by game time for the first time in a few days. I have a quiet day alone at home with the dog, so I am going to rest, in case my test results come back poorly today, and I end up getting induced when I go back to the hospital tonight.

QOTD: My favorite vacation so far has been Hawaii. We stayed on Maui and Oahu, I would love to see the remaining islands, but there is so much more we want to see as well. So maybe one day we will return after we get the otehr places out of the way.
I am looking forward to bringing DS to Disney World which I love and think it will be 100 times better now that I get to see the excitement through his eyes!
Update: They found traces of blood in my urine at my appointment on Thursday. They ran a sterile urine to check for UTI, but nope. So my kidney is acting up a bit. I kind of dread seeing my doctor on Monday - I think she may admit me to the hospital again if there is still blood in my urine... fingers crossed. Come Monday I have 3 weeks to go before induction, so I really hope I can avoid a hospital visit! Especially since Thanksgiving is just 2 weeks away.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

Question of the Day - Where have you taken your favorite vacation, and do you plan to return?
Well, my favorite vacation spot isn't super exciting but every year we go to Bethany Beach DE w/ my whole family. It's a nice little town right on the beach w/ lots to do for the kids. I can't wait to be able to take my family of 5 there again this summer. I'm really looking forward to it already. My husband and I vacationed to St. Lucia for our honeymoon and really enjoyed that....so beautiful. Maybe we'll go back for our 10th anniversary...if I can get someone to watch 3 kids ages 4, 6 and 8!
Updates- I've been having a few contractions on and off but nothing too exciting. I almost called L&D last night but the cramping went away. I'm kind of a nervous wreck and feel like a ticking time bomb. I see my OB on Monday for a sono and hopefully things are still looking good at that point.
I hope all of our babies keep cooking!

Type - Modified, but I'm pretty much doing strict until this child is born sometime next week.
Why - High blood pressure that's steadily increased over the past week and not going down with my medication, history of pre-e and HELLP Syndrome with my first son's pregnancy.
Question of the Day - Where have you taken your favorite vacation, and do you plan to return?
DH and I went to the American Club in Kohler, Wisconsin for our honeymoon. We stayed at the Carriage House right above the Water Spa and basically did not leave the hotel for 5 days. It was the most expensive 5 days of my life, but I've never been so pampered ever. We did couple's massages, body wraps, etc. I'm trying to get him to agree to go back for our 5 year anniversary in 2011, but we'll see how that goes. It's not a family friendly place, so we'd have to have someone watch the kids, but it would be nice to get away with DH, even if just for a weekend.
I am ashamed to admit this, but I have never been anywhere warm on vacation (south of Arkansas, that is)--not even Florida! I'm serious....I have never been to Florida! I mean, who the hell hasn't been to Florida??? That's something I'll remedy with my kids. They'll be able to say they went to Disney World. I've always wanted to do a vacation somewhere warm while it was cold in Indiana.
UPDATES? Thanks for the birthday wishes, ladies! It's been a good day so far. My parents always call at 6:02am, which was the time I was born. I laid bets last night with DH and my best friend (who came into town) on whether or not they'd call because it's a weekend and because of the obvious not sleeping well 9 months pregnant thing. I got up to pee at 5am and put the phone on my pillow just in case and my husband says they called like usual and I swear to God, I didn't even hear the phone ring. DH totally let me sleep and told my mom I'd call when I got up....hehehehe. DH and best friend made me breakfast this morning and now we're watching the Michigan State/Purdue football game (I went to Michigan State, DH went to Purdue--it's a divided house today). Blood pressure is still high (this morning before meds 161/80--yucky!), but it's gone a little on the top number down now that the meds have kicked in.
Anyone heard from Cindy yet?

Just realized that I put Sunday, and someone pointed that out already I see. After two months of this stuck at home thing, my days are obviously confused and I now screwed up the check in. Who does that???
Carlyn, you make me giggle. If it makes you feel any better, I have never been anyplace cold for vacation. The furthest north I have been is New York, and it is always in the summer! Definitely on my bucket list! I am glad you are enjoying your day!!! Maryland stinks so bad, I can't watch them on tv, and they only play 30 minutes away!!! I thought I may get lucky with them playing a good team today in VA Tech, but oh well.
Oh and how I miss the beach. Bethany is SOOOOO nice! My grandma used to have a place in Ocean City and she sold it four years ago, and I haven't been back since she went. It was a childhood favorite, we would go EVERY weekend. I love the beach, I think it is fantastic, but DH is super super fair, and is not a huge fan. So that is something we haven't done together yet...even going to tropical places, we usually skip the white sands and ocean and stick to a pool, LOL. He looks at the sun and burns!!!
So sorry about the check in goof...it will be sunday eventually, and this week we will do two check ins for Sunday!

My fav vacay place would most likely be Disney World. It's always been a family tradition to go and we got to do a big family trip (w/niece and nephews) last year. It was the kids first time and DH's first. So I can't wait to take my baby (babies) as they grow. I love the wonder and magic you see in people's eyes the first time they go. It's such a huge and amazing place! And I like going anywhere warm
Updates- HAPPY BIRTHDAY CARLYN!!!!!! Don't let the divided game get you going to much, I'm hoping to hear that your B/P keeps going down, bit by bit. Since you didn't say anything, I'm assuming no major contractions today? I'm hoping Eli is a good boy and waits till your big day is over.
Also, Brigid...don't feel bad about the date. I saw that and went, holy cow...I've got my days mixed up again! I actually checked the computer cause I just didn't know. But when you are on bed rest and not working, the days all blend together. I'm sure everyone here understands!
I'm pretty sore today, went and did a little X-mas shopping yesterday then went w/ DH to see a band. I know, breaking the rules, but I was careful and sat at the show the whole time. We had friends there who were great about making sure I had a padded seat and drink(water) :-) all the time. I'm feeling it today, but glad I did it. I feel a little more sane than before and it was nice to spend time with people again. And it was so nice how everyone pampered me, even the guys! I was impressed and it made me feel loved. Which is nice after being stuck at home so much. So now I'll take it easy for the next bit and let the back recover. It just makes me realize how much we give up when we are on bedrest. I really am in awe of all you ladies who are on strict and can't break rules ever for the health of your baby. I dont know how you do it and want you to know that I think you are awesome! Everyone take care and keep those babies growing!!

Why - Originally it was for bleeding due to a low lying placenta. Now, they have found out that I have placenta accreta.

Just saying hello to our new girls! Sorry to see that you're here, but glad you're joining our club. Hope we can offer you some support while you're trying your hardest to not be bored. Don't mind me....I'm the class clown.
And Brigid, you make me laugh too. I saw your "Sunday" check in and thought, "Ooops, Brigid needs to have this baby...she's got pregnant brain and she lost her days." And YOU'VE never been anywhere cold? Who the heck cares about going somewhere COLDER for vacation? You're crazy, woman! I've actually never really been to New York, either. I flew into JFK and LaGuardia once on my way to Ukraine for a study abroad through MSU (yeah, I've been to freaking Ukraine, but not Florida....I seriously have issues), but I don't think that counts since I didn't leave the airport.
Hope everyone else's day was as cool as mine. I got breakfast made for me, my football team beat my husband's football team, I had dinner at my favorite restaurant, and it was 65 degrees in Northern Indiana in November. Can't ask for much more than that for a 29th birthday!
