Convertible Cars Seats - Are you getting one for each car?

DD will need a convertible car seat soon and I am wondering if it makes sense to get one for each car?  DH drops her off and picks her up from daycare two days a week (occasionally I pick her up).  DH watches her two days a week and I watch her one day during the week.  She would be riding in both cars several times a week so I think it would make sense to have two.  What is everyone else doing?

    We will have to. DH drops her off and I pick her up.

    Plus, I like knowing that if I have my car and he needs to get her for whatever reason, he has a means of transporting her safely.

    we are not...only bc DH's car is too small for a carseat in the back seat (mustang).  so, we just have one for my SUV.  Sorry not any help!

    yep, we'll be getting a second one. if there's ever a time when one of us is tied up and can't get her from day care, there won't be an issue.

    we'll get one but switch out cars. dh watches her m-w so i'll be taking his truck to work while my car stays 'home' and when i take her to dc th-fr .. i'll be taking my car to work.

    Yes, we have one for each car.  I can't imagine installing it every time we switched vehicles.  I'd hate to be without a carseat if there was an emergency and DH was gone with it in his car.

    Yes, if you use both cars, you NEED a seat in each.  Trying to take out and reinstall the seat over and over is not only labor intensive and time wasting, but also opens up a huge possibility of installing it incorrectly at some point making it a safety issue.  Toddler carseats are not meant to be taken out and re0installed over and over.

    We have 1 car and still have 2 seats.  My aunt was watching my older daughter weekly for a while so she got a seat instead of having to switch seats or cars every week.  Toddler seats are a pain to install so I'm glad she insisted on that.

    We got two. DH's car is the family car, we use it whenever we're all going out together and on trips. But I'm a SAHM so I need one in my car for when DS and I go out during the week without DH.
