So, I got the H1N1 vaccine a few weeks ago and got an allergic reaction to something in the vaccine. I've never had any allergies to vaccines before. (And for the record, I have ZERO regrets for getting the vaccine, just wish I didn't have the week of hives afterwards!)
Anyway, there's a flu shot clinic tomorrow offering seasonal flu vaccines... I'm wondering if I should get it. I know the H1N1 threat is much greater for pregnant women, but getting the regular flu probably isn't much fun either. The allergic reaction didn't harm the baby (they did an u/s and everything looked fine), but I'm not sure if I want to risk getting it again.
WW1TD? (What Would 1st Tri Do?)
Re: Worth the risk?
Do you know what in the H1N1 shot you had the reaction to? If you can figure that out, you might want to get the seasonal flu shot or not based on that. Otherwise I would go with whatever your OB suggests. Allergic reactions can be a tricky thing. Sorry if this isn't much help.
Have you talked to your OB or reg doctor. I would since you had a reaction to the other.
