Duggars: Remember when I felt bad for mocking them?

Because I really think they are so sweet to each other and seem very genuine.  Well, they are.  But...I watched a Q&A episode and they don't allow their children to dance.  Basically because when girls shake their thing boys can't control themselves.

Yes, Duggars. You deserve a side-eye for not allowing your children to express themselves through movement and music that is completely natural and innate.  Hmm

You also deserve this again:

  • Yeah they are wacko to the extreme.  Jim Bob was on there the other day saying that he wanted to have 20 children who would each have 10 children so that he could have 200 grandchildren.  That dude has issues.
  • Loading the player...
  • HA I saw that on the wedding episode. It was hiiiilarious.
  • Have you see Jesus Camp? There was a girl on there about 10 who liked to dance but had to be aware of whether or not she was "dancing for the flesh" vs. dancing for Jesus.

    That gets a hugeHmm

  • Yeh I gotta cut loose footloose kick off my Sunday shoes....

that's all that made me think of lol

  • I love the Duggars...I do...but I can't wait for the day when one of their children grow up and goes WILD!!!!  I really can't wait.  Because out of 19 children, one of them is bound to taste the FREEDOM and go bonkers in Vegas or Mexico or someplace.  And one of them is bound to write a tell-all book of what it was really like to live in the house!

And, I think it is weird that the boys are not allowed to wear shorts because of something they read in the  bible.  Huh?

  • They are special little snowflakes.

  • Ok I don't really watch that show but have seen a few episodes. How on earth do they get that many kids to behave so well?!! I have 2 & they're like wild animals! The parents always seem so calm & have it all together. I wonder if they ever go crazy & just scream & throw stuff, etc.
  • I live near Bob Jones University, so I'm exposed to the Duggar mentality very frequently.

This movie scared me.  For real.

I've already predicted that Jennifer will escape.  She's the little one who has a nuk in her mouth all the time.  She's a firecracker.

Yeah, they're not even allowed to dance around each other?  Are they afraid that other family members will get turned on?

I love it that the older girls cover the little boys' eyes when they see a scantily clad woman walk by.  I wonder how the women feel.

  • Yeah isn't that a religious thing? My dads side is baptist and they didn't have any dancing at my aunts wedding because it's "wrong" or something. I didn't quite understand it because my grandma told me how her and my grandpa use to go out dancing before they had my dad, and also my dads side had no problem dancing at my wedding.

I went to a church for a while (in high school, all my friends were going) and that religion didn't allow dancing.

But the youth pastor used to DJ dances for the public school all the time.

And there was this huge talent contest (country wide) that was held by the church and the church's colleges.  And everyone wanted a dance category, but instead they called it "creative movement," which was basically dancing.  Lots of girls in skimpy ballerina clothes writhing around... It didn't make any sense to me. Smile
