Re: Who is still breastfeeding?

  • I am and I have been back to work for 2+ months now. Its a pain in the ass, but for me its worth the hassle to be able to provide my daughter with free food that is specifically designed for her! Whenever I feel sick of it, I remind myself that this is all for her!

    Ditto this and some cereal!

  • I am... But its not going very well. Natalie only nurses in the morning and then I pump throughout the day. My supply is low so I supplement. I'm hoping to hang in there for two more months, at least
  • I work 40 hrs/week and EBF, we started solids at 4 months, but still BF just as much as before.  I pump 3x a day at work.

  • I'm still EPing ... over halfway to my 6-month goal!  I'm also getting really sick of toting my PISA around everywhere.

How fun - our girls were born right around the same time at around the same gestational age!  Did you start EPing due to prematurity-related issues?  We introduced the bottle to get DD out of the NICU and once she figured out there was an "easy way" we could forget about BFing.

  • I am a WAHM and plan to BF at least 1 year, but hopefully longer.  I hate my pump and I am trying to wean myself off of it.
  • Still mostly EBF.  She gets one bottle of pumped milk a day and I SAH so thankfully I only have to pump once a day.  I give major credit to you ladies that EP, don't know if I could do it.

  • I have been back to work for 3 months now, and am still pumping. It has been a crazy road with mastaitis and supply issues, but I am still EBF (thank god I had an awesome freezer stash!).

It is hard. I hate lugging my pump on the train to work, I hate feeling like a cow :) but I have actually started reading while pumping at work, and I am really starting to not mind it! It has actually been some really  nice "me" time!

Totally do what is right for you, happy mom= happy baby. I am glad that I stuck with it. I was about to give up a few weeks ago when my supply went down to 2 oz, and his intake went up from 4 to 6oz. I felt defeated. I really worked at getting my supply back up, and am almost at 5oz now!

You can do it, focus on the goal you set when you first started - that helped me a lot!

  • I am.  I am going back to work in a week and plan pumping when I go back.

  • I am EBF, although sometimes I have to pump for the days I am out of the house for work. It's a PITA.

  • I so but I am a SAHM, but will soon be a WAHM.

I give all of you pumpers major props. I would go crazy if I had to prep, pump, wash, etc all day.

  • I work 12 hour nights and can only pump 2 or 3 times during my shift and I nurse at home. I also have to supplement...but I'm almost to my goal of 6 months! And that's pretty good considering all of the insane problems we've had.
  • I'm still EPing. Its really hard but I'm proud of myself for sticking with it. I'm pumping as I type, lol.
  • I'm still EBF and hope to go at least a year this time.  My older daughter had a really weak suction and 2 different lactation consultants couldn't get her BFing efficiently, so I ended up pumping as much as I could and supplementing (she was 2/3 breastmilk) until 6 months.  I'm really proud of anyone who does that because it was really hard!

  • I'm still BFing and will be going back to work PT, so I will pump while I'm there. I hope I can make it for 1 year.
