DD is getting her seasonal flu shot on Tuesday. Last year I know it was thimersol free.
All medical stuff said there is more mercury in a tuna sandwich. So I am wondering if I should question it or care.
BTW it is a law in our state that she gets the seasonal flu vaccine in order to attend daycare, so she is getting it no matter what.
The H1N1 vaccine is not in anywhere around here so the jury is still out on that one!
Re: XP: Thimersol free reg. flu vaccine--did you know or care?
I didn't care. I don't believe in the hype. That said, my child does not have any issues stemming from vaccines and/or mercury, so I might feel differently if she did.
DD got seasonal flu and H1N1 and I have no idea if either one contained mercury, I was just very thankful that she was able to get both. Now just crossing my fingers that the booster shots will come in.
Where I live the only flu shots that contain thimerosol are reserved for kids 6yrs and older. My son gets the flu mist. He did get the H1N1 and I am quite positive that contained thimerosol. One of my friends, a doctor, snuck my son a vaccine because I'm having a baby in ten days and the H1N1 is not available anywhere here for children. He reduced the dose to a child's size dose for Jack the other day.
Jack is three and I'm not so worried about thimerosol. I was slightly worried for my unborn child as I had the seasonal flu shot with thimerosol and also the H1N1 shot with thimerosol. The amounts are trace and after speaking with my doctors, I felt it was safe even in the double dose. Still I have that lingering what if in the back of my head.
mine too
