NTR: Do you believe the in the theories of 2012?

Let's discuss this, do you believe that something catastrophic will occur in 2012? DH was just watching a DISC special on peoples theories that the Mayan calendar predicts world ending or at least the world as we know it on December 21st 2012. He loves history and theories, so he wanted to talk about it with me and what we will do to prepare. Honestly, I have no idea and don't really feel strongly about it. I didn't do anything for Y2K either, I guess I just like being blind about it and just have faith in what will happen is what will happen. I can't stop it, however, I am entertaining this for him because he likes it.

So what do you think?

Not really. Even Mayan followers don't really believe the world will 'end.'

No. And actually, the Mayan calendar doesnt predict the end of the world in 2012, just the end of that calendar "cycle".

No, I don't buy it. The people who are die hard about it make me laugh! I heard some guy on tv today saying you shouldn't be anywhere near an ocean or something like that, and that you could do some sort of test on him (not a lie detector) to tell he wasn't lying. Well, DUH, he completely believed what he was saying...of course he wasn't "lying!"

Do I think it will all end... NO but I do think there is something to the science and it should be interesting. Way cool how the science and the calender coincide though.
