For those that get + OPKs

When you get a + OPK, about how long does it take (seconds/minutes) for it to be evident that it'll be positive?

The cheap internet OPKs that I use, say that the results can be viewed in 10 min., but a + could be visible within 40 sec.

What have you experienced?

TTC #1 since June 2009: irregular cycles
BFP 1/20/10, EDD 9/28/10, born 10/5/10

TTC #2 since Nov 2011:
BFP 2/8/12, MC @ 5 weeks; BFP 3/22/12, MC @ 5 1/2 weeks; BFP 9/10/12, MC @ 6 weeks

Started seeing RE Nov 2012. Chromosomal test and all other tests came back "normal". Unexplained MCs. Found mild hytpothyroidism. Two unmedicated cycles, both BFNs. First medicated cycle (clomid, ovidrel) 1/23/13. Low progesterone found during 9DPO P4 test = 7.6. Put on prometrium supplements.

BFP 2/16/13; 2/18/13 (13 dpo): Beta #1=52.8, progesterone=18.7; estrogen = 412; Dr. increased progesterone dosage.
2/21/13 (16 dpo): Beta #2 = 269; progesterone = 32.4
2/25/13 (20 dpo): Beta #3 = 1,236
2/28/13 (23 dpo): Beta #4 = ?? tbd

    Usually, my negatives take about a minutes or longer to show, but the positives took as long as the control line or less. I'm thinking 10 seconds. Wish I could get a HPT that worked like that!

    ETA: I use the Dollar Store OPKs.

    I also use internet cheapies and know pretty well within 30 seconds if it's going to end up positive.  Not to say it is positive within 30 seconds, just that it will get there.

    I use the cheap ones from online- when it is positive, the line is there immediately and just keeps getting darker for me.

    Yes, this is what I have noticed the past two cycles I used OPKs.  This is the 3rd cycle of me using them, and I keep staring at them the full 10 minutes, just desperately hoping I'll get a +, but know deep down it's a neg. after a few seconds.

    Thank you for reassuring me what I already know deep down.  I gotta quit stupidly staring at them for 10 minutes. Smile

    I use the cheap dollar store ones. this month i got my first positive. it was feint from the get go (which it never was before) and by ten minutes (the amount of time it recommends) it was as as dark as the test line. I followed up with a CPE Digital just to be sure.

    The internet cheapies I have say to wait 3 (or 5, I can't remember) minutes to interpret.
